OBON 2025 featured queer, Nigerian-American, National Book Award Finalist candice iloh. The Norristown community engaged in a variety of activities centered on iloh's novels Salt the Water and Every Body Looking. Check out some of the highlights of OBON 2025!
OBON 2025's Family Storytelling Project
Norristown Area School District families read aloud from iloh's novel Salt the Water and discussed some of the book's most pressing themes. Many thanks to the Rosen, Wharton, and Bravo families for participating and to the crew from NASDTv for filming and production!


Short and Sweet
Congratulations Hayley Lightcap for winning OBON 2025's Short and Sweet Microfiction storytelling contest with her two stories "In a Shallow Bathtub" and "A Mistaken Identity."

Hayley Lightcap is 26 years old. She works part time while attending college part time. She has been published overseas, as well as local literary magazines. Hayley is active is different writing communities and has helped judge and participate in other writing competitions. Aside from writing she also enjoys photography, painting, and reading.
